Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?

Workout clothes are a good start!

For Bungee Fitness, work out shoes, leggings and a top that covers your stomach is best for resisting bungee friction but any comfortable clothing that covers your legs so the bungee is not against your bare skin.

Aerial Silks can burn and Aerial Lyra can scrape, long sleeve tops and leggings are advised for your first lesson and after you can decide what is comfortable. Bare feet for Silks and either bare feet or socks for Lyra.

Kids need to wear comfortable clothing that does not easily ride up or down, leotard or high waisted pants and leggings with a t shirt or long sleeve top is advised and long hair tied back.

Bring water also!

How long are the classes?

All Aerial and Pole classes are an hour long. Bungee Fitness is 30 minutes long but you must arrive 15 minutes early on your first class to be fitted into your harness and bungee.

What should I expect from the classes?

Bungee classes will begin by being fitted into a harness and a specific bungee cord (weight rated). Once fitted it is advised to leave water close to your bungee spot as once the class begins you will not be able to get out of the bungee until the end of class as your cord will be attached to the ceiling and directly onto your harness. We begin with a warm up, HIIT (high intensity interval training), followed by high energy bungee routines and a cool down. Bungee Fit is a high intensity, low impact, full body cardio workout. The bungee takes partial weight from your body and that allows for lower impact on your body when jumping, lunging, squating, doing pushups etc. Bungee Fit is for all fitness levels, full of laughs, crazy fun and will have you sweating!

Aerial classes begin with a full body stretch, followed by strengthening exercises using your body weight. Expect pull ups, climbing and upper body and core training. If you take silks you will also learn to climb the silks. You will then learn between 1-3 skills/sequences on either the Lyra or Silks and every few classes we will work on putting learned skills into routines to music. Classes are hard, there is no doubt about it, you will get fatigued quickly to begin with but anyone and I mean anyone can learn aerial, it takes time and determination. Lyra tends to be little easier than the silks strengthwise. Classes are super fun, hard work and rewarding.

How can I book classes?

Click the “book a class” button on the webpage to schedule and pay for a class online. Booking in advanced is recommended as space is limited in each class and booking is the only way to reserve your spot. You can come to the class and drop in, however this is not recommended incase classes are already full. You can check the website calendar and see if classes are full before you come. When booking online you can book 1 class at a time or sign up on a monthly basis. Payments come out automatically each month when you sign up for monthly classes.

Can anyone join these classes?

The short answer is yes! of course! Any fitness level can join. Everybody starts at the beginning regardless of strength or fitness history, however if you have any medical issues or are pregnant you must consult your physician before participation.

If you are pregnant and have never taken aerial classes before you should wait for your post partum recovery, this will get you in excellent shape! You cannot join in bungee fit at all whilst pregnant.

For bungee fit you must be between 80-300lbs, anything below or above will not be able to use the bungee cord but we have plenty of other classes you can try!

Can I bring someone to watch the class?

No, we don’t allow people to watch the classes unless you are a parent of a child in a kids aerial class. This is a place for fitness and fun, some participants in the class may not feel comfortable being watched so please do not invite people to do so. We will have designated classes throughout the year that friends and family can see what you have been up too.

If you have a class you cannot make you are able to switch it to another class within 24 hours notice online otherwise you will lose that class.
